Tips for Overcoming Burnout When Working From Home

For most people, working from home is a brilliant position to be in. However, as with most things in life, it does have its drawbacks. So, if you’ve felt like you haven’t been giving the best you have to offer, you might be approaching burnout; here’s how to overcome it. 

Watch what you eat

We are more likely to resort to stress eating when we are facing a lot of pressure work-wise. Research has shown that eating unhealthily can cause all sorts of unpleasant effects on our bodies as well as our minds. So, if you’ve been failing in this area and have been resorting to fast food instead of healthier food options, there are ways around this. For one, you can have healthy food items delivered right to your door instead of going the non-healthy route when you are out and about. Before choosing a food delivery service, be sure to look up reviews to see what companies are offering top-notch delivery services, so you can be assured you’re receiving the very best there is. 

Creating a relaxing outdoor space

If you have been suffering from burnout lately, then why not get outdoors more?  What’s more, if your backyard is peaceful and serene, then you’re more likely to derive even more satisfaction from the outdoors, which should help to lessen your stress levels quite a bit. So why not hire professional landscaping services to transform your backyard into a dream oasis by connecting with local landscapers in your area that are close by?  Be sure to keep an eye out for deals or discounts, too, if you have your budget to consider. Also, having a preliminary meeting with them beforehand will ensure everyone’s on the same page design-wise. 

Eliminate all negative energy

Now that we’ve dealt with the exterior of your home, it’s time to deal with the interior of your home as well. For example, a well-organized workstation, with everything in its place, is sure to promote inspiration and creativity, which can enhance any positive energy there already is. 

Take regular breaks

While working from home can seem not as pressurized timewise, it is also easier to lose track of time. This can result in you not taking regular breaks even though you should, which can eventually lead to feelings of overwhelming exhaustion and burnout. So, make it a point to take small breaks often – your work will thank you for it! 

Create boundaries

Setting boundaries means knowing when to say no when your body and mind are telling you so. Again, establishing boundaries should enable you to accomplish much more as you’ll be focused on matters of priority instead of having your time and attention spread over too many things. 

Go to bed earlier

Going to bed earlier can make a lot of difference to your day the next day. Furthermore, you’ll be more alert and focused when it comes to handling pressing issues more thoroughly than you would if you were only just getting the bare minimum of shuteye daily. 

Go on that mini vacay

Take a holiday often, even if it’s just a mini vacay or a weekend getaway on the odd occasion. And when you return, you should feel more wide-eyed and bushy-tailed on your return. The above are just some of the things you can do to avoid burnout even while working from home.

Raising the Standard to the Unsung Truth ……….Omegia Keeys

18238523_10211459720142330_5534644034860001756_oOmegia Meme Keeys, native of Michigan City, Indiana, is an American Writer, Director, Producer and Author who exudes much Strength and Intentionality. Above all, Omegia is a Matriarch of Truth and Change. She boldly tackles contention and uncomfortability as a challenge, but more-so to dig and create worlds that wouldn’t normally be told from a person of color’s perspective and therefore holds the Banner of a Content Creator!

Omegia’s Purpose is to Inspire others!

Reflecting back to the late 70s and early 80s’, Omegia was very animated. Before the age of 10, she would create New worlds with her Star Wars action figures and when people would visit, Omegia would hand them an entire script to Act out the roles. Although, Omegia never conceived the height of her imagination (to her, she was just having FUN); this would be the start of her Dynasty as a Filmmaker!

Omegia attributes her tireless activism for making a difference in her work and personal journey to her Mother, JoAnn Johnson. JoAnn is her biggest supporter and Inspiration. She is an Activist who lived through the Jim Crow and Civil Rights era. Omegia was fortunate to learn of her mother’s march for voting, women’s rights, and other injustices with American political leader, Fannie Lou Hamer. The wisdom Joann portrayed caused a Great combustion with Omegia! Her need to be the Voice for so many Unsung Truths grew immensely!

In addition, JoAnn is also a well known Farmer in her home town, growing healthy produce and feeding the less fortunate. JoAnn has always pushed Omegia to strive for Excellence and taught her to Never take No for an Answer. She took grave responsibility in teaching Omegia HER history as well as serving others. As Omegia would explore new ventures (even during adolescent years) she would recall her mother’s words, “a NO means work around it- Until you get a YES.”

Truth is, Omegia didn’t have the luxury of being Mediocre. Her mother had already set an Incredible Standard! And having such a rich foundation, it was inevitable that Omegia would relentlessly pursue each goal!

By No means, aborting her (then) hobby to create world’s with her script-writing, Omegia would discover another passion, Running! With her blended natural ability to compete, her discipline, and visions that she too could one day be an Olympic runner, Omegia would go on to lead competitions throughout cities around the world. She never allowed her status of being a minority in this sport to overshadow her way of thinking. Omegia ran track from the 7th grade through college. She kept in mind affirmations her mother spoke into her, (to Never give up-even when she felt defeated) and other African American women who Dominated in track.

“I met many celebrity runners, one in particular, Jackie Joyner Kersey- who I observed had asthma, but proved to be very successful. It definitely boosted my confidence because I, too, coped with asthma. In conjunction to Jackie Joyner Kersey and my Mother being an inspiration, I undoubtfully admired my sister, Teresa Brown. She was a Beast. She is 7 years older. I would go to her track meets and run along side her. I wanted to be as good as Teresa. I cried when I broke her 1st record. Periodically, I would even slow down to not surpass her time. She would go on to give her blessing for me to UNLEASH the Fire!”

Omegia was indeed a Fire Runner! She would brave the most difficult tasks knowing she did her absolute best! Omegia exceeded her own expectations, going on to Win Awards: 9 Time Missouri Valley Conference Championship, Pan Am Games Bronze (Argentina), All American and State Championships and more.

As if her plate wasn’t plentiful, in the interim of her triumph of competing, Omegia also managed to be Extraordinary in her Academics! She graduated with honors from Indiana State University with a BS in Criminology and Minor in English Literature.

As philanthropy was rooted in her at an early age, Omegia joined Sigma Gamma Rho Fall of 1995. She would embark a new Sister hood. Driven as Omegia was with each task that was presented, she was equally dedicated to serving her community. The harmonious connection with her sorors would Only help to further her cause in actively serving and being assertive for the Unsung Truth!

Being instrumental in the Community was just a portion of how she displayed her kindness. Omegia felt she had a greater assignment. After college, following her Father, GM Keeys‘ footsteps, she enlisted in the Military; with a total of 16 years to date. She served her 1st six years in the Air force as an Intelligence Analyst and the remainder in the Army as Human Resources/Personnel. She also worked at MEPs (Military Entrance Processes Station), as a Recruiter. 2 out of the 16 years, Omegia was IRR (Inactive Ready Reserve). She is Audacious and extremely cultured. While serving, Omegia saw and experienced many parts of the world. Unbeknownst to Omegia, her record of events would be the catalyst to the Heroic woman she is today!

“The military allowed me to have unfathomable laser point focus. I can do many things in a short amount of time!”, says Omegia.

Intentionally keeping a journal (to clear her mind and help her stay focused) while being in the Military, Omegia would eventually establish and publish her catalog: (2006) Passionate Playmates, (2007) Seduction.com, and (2008) Can You Keep a Secret. Having received raving reviews from returned and new fans, Omegia would be encouraged to continue writing novels. Omegia was/is a gifted Author who possess power and the ability to deliver conviction! The demand for Omegia, the Author, had grown astronomical! Writing was an addiction. In a short period of time she he had written over 30 books! Being well received by her peers in notable Writing Guilds as well as her fans, Omegia would win awards for Readers Favorite and Conversation Top 25, National Black Books, Best Seller in 6 Titles and many others.

Omegia was unmatched in her tenacity and had an unquestionable amount of belief that she could master anything she put her mind to! Shifting from full time service in the Military to now being a best selling Author, Omegia would relocate to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue her life long passion of being a Content Creator. Shortly after becoming a resident, a friend who also served in the Military took interest in Omegia’s writing style, becoming a starved fan. He would make it his mission to harass her with encouragement! He spoke candidly when holding her accountable of her irrefutable talents. He would urge her to bring her novels to TV/Film. Omegia later discovered her military friend had an ulterior motive, he was an Actor. It wasn’t a bad thing, though; Omegia heeded his words and in 2012 she wrote her novel, Domestic Seduction. After writing Domestic Seduction, it evolved into a script. The “Floodgates” would then open and be the invitation for Omegia to Reintroduce herself, as Omegia, the Filmmaker!

“About Face is a Military term and My life is Exactly that. I’m making an About Face into my Greatness!”

Omegia had grown a sense of admiration for other notable black filmmakers. She would be notorious for taking notes every chance she got. Omegia was self taught. Her methods for learning were sometimes unorthodox but extremely effective. Omegia became a student of the Art. She had a PHD in “Google-ology”, never shy or afraid of watching tutorials. Relative to producing films, a compilation of her mother’s early teachings and other life experiences would ultimately set the tone for Omegia- in how she would establish and build rapport with other Industry Professionals.

In 2014 Omegia launched About Face Media. It would be the central hub to house her many projects. Being authentic and true to her goals as a filmmaker, Omegia would work many Productions (behind the scenes) as a way to fund her projects as well as learn from other Directors and Producers. She had a habit of keeping “the Notebook” while working as Stand-In. Omegia is a proven team player, but when on set- she is all about getting the work done! If there was ever pause in her job- she would focus on “the Notebook”. Oddly, people would gravitate towards her. The Notebook had a life of its own, causing “Heavy Hitters” of the Entertainment Industry to take notice and become a fan! Omegia recalls having worked on set of Nashville. Actor, Director Mario Van Peebles was magnetized by her writing style. He too had his own Notebook. It was of no surprise that he would give her the “nod” of salutation. He was one of the many well-known Filmmakers who took interest.

And Then IT happened…………

“I had the opportunity to work on The Originals. We were filming at a Very Creepy House. While Most Folks Sat Inside to Stay Warm, I Opted for the Light, Outside. Director, Rob Hardy walked by me a few times. My Notebook caught his eye! He grabbed it from me, Man was I Nervous! I had No idea what he would do with it. Even when I was called into set, he didn’t say a Word. At the end of the night he returned my notebook with notes. One that read, “Never Give Up and I Better Not Sell This One.” That Very moment let me know that I am really meant to do this.!

In addition to working on the Originals for 3 consecutive seasons, Omegia served Production for The House with a Clock in its Walls, Hunger Games, Marvel’s Black Panther, Hidden Figure and countless others. While working, she also wrote and produced Donors (derived from her previous novels). Omegia is definitely well known in the Atlanta acting Circuit for creating Worlds of Opportunity for Many actors. Her recent Premiere of Domestic Seduction is rumored to have reached massive audiences! This would generate sales as well as provoke fans of Amazon to become instant supporters. Omegia has since written The Brown Girls Guide to Good Credit. She has also Written and Directed From Jim to James Crow, a Social Documentary, projected to be one of the most controversial projects she has ever Created.

Omegia is also in Pre-production of her films, Shattered, The Lure and respectively looks forward to cultivating precision with (earlier scripts) Donor Series, and Delta Dogs, near August.

As fruitful as Omegia’s resume is, she continues to strive for excellence! Omegia plans to leave a legacy-her family would be proud of. She maintains her integrity in any manner of service she provides; whether its philanthropy, empowerment or film making. She understands the level of responsibility with the baton she carries. Her goals are to continue Creating content without permissions for African American voices to be heard (by any means necessary)! She also believes and is a reflection of “When people show you who they are, believe them.” -Oprah Winfrey. Omegia is relentless in carrying out Each task until completion!

a Dream Fulfilled with Rasheda L Randle

With experience birthed from early childhood, predating to 5 years old; Rasheda began her writing journey and later exploring her Gifts as an Actress and Producer- collectively over 10 years.

Having Such a Vibrant Buffet of Exposure to Life and Culture- Overall; Rasheda L. Randle has become a World Renown Household Brand.

Rasheda was “ahead of her time”. At a very young age she knew the Divine calling on her life was to be a Creator. What she would later learn was her Ultimate Assignment would be to Lead and Create Opportunities for Many!

Rasheda, too, stood on the shoulders of other notable Artist and Filmmakers- when It came to Film-making. However much of her foundation and the woman she is, Today, stemmed from her upbringing.

She inherited a sense of liberty from her mother’s wit and carefree personality. Rasheda’s mother was definitely resilient and full of life! She would do everything in her Power to see a smile on Rasheda’s face! Rasheda would often reflect on her mother making the most heavenly home made vanilla ice cream-from when it would snow in Indiana.

But as life would have; Rasheda had to accept the Good, Bad, and Ugly”. There were levels to the Ups and Downs Rasheda endured. Rasheda’s mom was unapologetically unconstrained. Unfortunately, due to a few impaired choices, Rasheda’s mother was exposed to and became a victim of substance abuse. During her Mother’s rehabilitation, Rasheda’s father, older Sisters – (who also aided in Much of her School Endeavors), and other family members would carry the baton as Rasheda’s caretaker.

It’s of No coincidence how well Rasheda was able to navigate through her journey with a seemingly unmarked appearance. After all, Rasheda’s zodiac is a Libra; she naturally embodied balance! None-the-less, Rasheda could do No wrong in her Mother’s eye sight- despite their situation. After Rasheda’s mother completed rehab, she rediscovered herself and got engaged. And in 2007, 4 days after Rasheda’s mother’s birthday and celebration, Rasheda’s mother never woke again.

In the interim of Rasheda having to adapt to a new normality of life, she was highly successful in school. She attributes her ambition and perseverance to her Grandfather. He was the Patriarch that exuded an astronomical wealth of Wisdom! Like many other families, Rasheda’s Grandfather would be their Beacon of Hope. Through many examples of his kindness, integrity, and hard work, Rasheda would take the lessons taught by her Grandfather and Purposely execute her goals.

Rasheda’s Grandfather was/is the Rock! He maintained his position and encouraged Rasheda to continue to be the Best at Everything and she did just that! Her works and accomplishments as a youth would include but not be limited to writing with the Young Author’s Program and Book-It, sponsored by Pizza Hut. She would later go on to Winning Writing Contests!

Rasheda was inspired by adversity and anyone who had to overcome it, to achieve their own Personal Greatness! The AUDACITY Rasheda had- had Taken Flight!

After high school, Rasheda pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in Radio/TV/ Film, and an MBA in Marketing and Human Resources. She also advanced her commitment and became a Graduate of the New York Film Academy. Still hearing her Grandfather’s voice, Rasheda remains to be a Student of Life.

Essentially, Rasheda learned as a child how significant it was to have a support system that would champion, remind, and affirm her, just as her Grandfather had displayed. Rasheda was adopted into the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Though she was quite grounded; being a member of this Sisterhood made her WHY even stronger!

Rasheda’s regal appetite to learn and experience life through a Creative lens is that of a Legend! She has traveled some of the most Prominent International Cites: Paris, Amsterdam, and London to name a few. She became the Poster Board of Living with No Regrets! As Rasheda’s Purpose was to use her artistry, talents, and gifts in an effort to give back to others; She decided to relocate. Having met Los Angeles along the way of her expeditionary learning; she would soon make Atlanta, GA be her Home and Hub of which to build her Brand!

Focusing on her talents, credentials, and what she felt her budding acting peers would need; Rasheda launched her company, Ivy League Productions/Consulting and she is the Creator and Instructor of The Actors Roundtable Workshop. The platforms she has created was designed to assist the beginning Actor or Filmmaker in All areas of Entertainment.

Rasheda’s decision to build her vision for making films in Atlanta was metamorphic. Her work ethic was unmatched. She begin to see the fruition of her laborious hustle. Rasheda’s colleagues trusted and admired her effort and detail to quality. It did not take long for the rest of the acting circuit to catch on and want to be part of her regime.

Rasheda broke down barriers! With a catalog of movie scripts, monologues and other projects; Rasheda produced Love and War, Heartless, and was lead Actress in, one of Amazon’s Best Top Sellers, Things My Daddy Should Have Told Me. As Rasheda carried on her vision she progressed as a filmmaker by entering her Movies in Film Festivals throughout the United States. She is recognized as a Renaissance woman. Having won awards with TPN Film Festival (Feb 2016, Dec 2016 for Best Actress) and The Peachtree Theater Awards (Artist of Influence) are just the beginning of her Dynasty!

Possessing a plethora of training and experience in Acting, Rasheda remains vibrant and goal oriented! She Owns her ability to deliver a crisp presentation! Rasheda is a former TV Reporter and serves as an event Host. She studies and aspires to work closely with Oprah Winfrey, Ava Duvernay, Ryan Murphy, and Kevin Hart. Rasheda also has a burning passion to portray Mamie Till in a film centered around the life of and after Emmett Till. Rasheda’s long term goals in the Entertainment Industry are to land a contract with Prime Time TV, Act in Horror films, and use her influence to generate opportunities for other actors.

Parallel to her ambition to serving the Acting circuit; she also plans to Open and Operate a non profit for functional and nonfunctional addicts (with detox, rehabilitation and transitional living) as well as her own Traveling agency- making Dubai her Voyage!

Rasheda L Randle is Certainly a Force to be reckoned with! Goals are Endless as Rasheda believes Life is a Gift and she is Determined to Show Gratitude through her Platform.

Brenda Smith Dubone is THE Exception.

American Actress/Host/ Model, Brenda Smith Dubone is known to be THE Exception!

Brenda is a Memphis, TN Native who relocated to Atlanta Georgia in 2013. After having been a veteran of the City of Memphis for 22 years, Wife (Divorcee), and Mother who raised 4 children; Brenda strategically executed her life long passion of working in Entertainment.

No matter the facet; Acting, Modeling, Singing, etc, Brenda deliberately was in execution mode!

Brenda was wise beyond her years. She learned at the early age of 5 about her gifts. Being extremely shy- she would only sing and dance for family. Later, in her middle school- aged years she experienced one of the most frightening moments of her life! Brenda learned that an opening at her school choir would soon be available. But the only way to be considered- she would have to audition in front of several of her peers. Thankfully, Mrs. Annie Barrett allowed her to sing to her (in a private setting). It was of No Surprise- how Brenda would WOW the entire Choir department with her colorful and mature vocals.
This gave Brenda the confidence that would help navigate her throughout her journey. Brenda later began giving private vocal lessons; teaching songs and harmony.

As an adult, Brenda Blooms in her Purpose. Being an example to others; showing them “with Faith in God, hard work and determination, it is Never too late to live out your dreams- No Matter What They Are and How Old You Are”!

Having Been Led By God w Purpose and Time, Brenda Surrounded Herself with People Who Authentically Understood Her Vision. People Who Epitomizes ‘IronSharpensIron!’ A Live Broadcast, “He Said, She Said”, Chef Competition: Laughter for the Soul (Food), AmicaAnd2Girls (Red Carpet Host), an Annual Fashion Show, “Ageless Beauty” are All Leading House Hold Brands, Brenda Has Come to Love and Attributes the Climax of her Career to her Dear Friend and Business Partner, Media Matriarch and Owner of TLA Agency, Tina Bridges.

Brenda continues to challenge herself, daily. She is proud to be in the position to add value to herself- by studying her craft. Brenda has taken multiple Acting Workshops in Atlanta, GA: Rated ETA, Dugout Studios, Rhavynn Drummer and a Production Assistant workshop at Pinewood Studios. Brenda also attributes sharpening her skills as an entertainer to the many Appearances she has made on TV. As if Being Mother, Actress, Host, and Full Figured Runway Model isn’t enough; Brenda stretches belief in her dream to become a world renowned Writer. One of her favorite quotes, “I do what I can, while I can, because tomorrow is not promised”! With each obstacle there is a blessing. Brenda has been the exception to what society deems to be the perfect recipe for success. Instead she has used her shy-ness and many other stones to build her massive catalog. Richard “JR” Reynolds

Richard JR Reynolds aka JR is a budding actor who through his notable deeds; exceeding beyond commitment to his community earns as well as qualifies him for accolades as ‘World Renowned’ in Arts and Entertainment.

Attributing much to his foundation of biblical upbringing; JR has always been innovative and generously “paying it forward”.

He is the Co-Founder of Nicey’s Heart of Restoration (Non-Profit for Battered Women/ Arts for Children). JR is also founder of Eagle Vision Productions (Providing a platform to singers, actors, dancers, etc through Stage Plays and Artist Showcases). JR is definitely one to be reckoned with. He proves through his daily actions that perseverance should be approached with much intentionality. Not only is he methodically balanced with philanthropy and Theater; he has allowed himself to be a student of the TV and Film Industry. Making appearances as background, stand-in, supporting and featured roles has/is sharpening his skills. Richard has had the opportunity to be featured in David Talberts, Almost Christmas, A Question of Faith with Kim Fields and Greg Alan Williams, NETFlIX, Come Sunday (Bishop Carlton Pearson) and more. He has also made appearances on Atlanta Live, Gospel Touch with Daisy McGrew and BJ Releford.
