Cupcakes and Stories in the “A” …….

How often do you get the opportunity to wind down, kick your feet up, and just get ‘Pastry Wasted’- without a feeling of guilt? Hmm- I had to sit and ponder that one. Yes, many of us try to escape the norm of our every day hustle and bustle; but in today’s society- actually taking a breath has become an oxymoron. We equate going to our 9 to 5, paying bills, taking care of our spouses and children (you know carrying the torch of the Modern Day Superwoman) to living the Dream. But, if I may be brutally honest- Superwoman saved everyone except for herself!

Whether you are married or single, as a woman- You’ve had to wear that ‘Superwoman’ hat at least 1 period in your lifetime.

On the Exterior- we look Damn good! But if the lighting in the room is right- you may just be able to see a few bruises or dried tears. Mac, simply can’t hide the pain! But the wonderful thing about being Superwoman- (ups or downs) is being able to SHARE our Story.

This past Sunday- I was invited to hang out in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, GA at J’Doah Salon. Women from all walks of life gathered for a Day of Pampering!

Music, Pastries, Cupcakes, White Chocolate Strawberries, Organic Caribbean Cocktails, Beauty Tips, Make-Overs and a little Red Carpet Treatment was but a mere highlight of the Evening!

Sponsors: Venue: J’Doah Salon, Flips Beauty Lash House, V Lashes Midtown, Jaxons Pastries, Blushing Berries-Metro Atlanta..to name a few- zealously Championed to Pay it Forward.

Guest of Honor, Denise Wiggins was the Mastermind and Superwoman responsible for this Soiree!

I would submit that Denise is a Woman after God’s own heart. Her philanthropical condition is symbolic of a vessel. She exudes service and Unity. ‘We are mighty- when we work together’, says Denise. Although, Denise isn’t the first Superwoman to advocate for women, she has definitely snatched the baton and is relentless in making Power Moves for the Kingdom.

Denise is the Founder of LipSynk Cosmetics and a Self Published Author of My Struggles God’s Glory. She is dedicated to Empowering Women and conveying, “No matter the struggle- you Can overcome!”

Denise reflects on a time when she was a single mom and forced to make ends meet for her 3 children with little government aid. She didn’t allow being a single mother to hinder her. Like myself, her children were/are her biggest motivation. Denise attributes other positive women as a beacon of Inspiration.

Denise’s relationship with God- grew immensely. After prayer and petitioning God as to what her divine purpose was, Denise researched the Cosmetic Industry. Reading and Studying were just as important as food to her. There went her journey.

Denise was a bit reluctant (to share her struggles) in the beginning for fear of shame and being too transparent. But with support of her husband and God reminding her- that it wasn’t about her; She remembered her “Why” and shortly afterward birthed her novel, My Struggles God’s Glory.

The magnitude of her mission is no secret. While branding her baby, Lip Synk Cosmetic- Denise learned the Art of Connecting with Women. Her team began to grow. In addition to God being Center of her life- she is ever grateful for her Husband, Daryl, family and close friends.

As if this Superwoman’s resume isn’t already extensive; Denise now shares her story throughout the United States with hopes that it encourages each woman.

As a writer, I serve no justice for the lives that were touched at this Colorful and Warm Event, but as a woman I definitely left feeling Empowered and am too ready to grab the baton and join Mrs. Denise Wiggins in her mission to Purposefully Be the Called, Motivator for Superwomen.
